Keynote Speaker– Ann Brand, Ph.D “Tending the Heart: Mindful Practices for Educators & Caregivers” Supporting students with disabilities presents many joys and challenges. Stress and burnout can interfere with our capacity to bring our knowledge, skills, and care to our work with children and families. Mindfulness is one simple practice that supports teacher and caregiver well-being. This talk explores the concept of mindfulness, presents research supporting its benefits, and introduces simple practices that can be used both in and out of the classroom to support educator well-being and a healthy classroom climate.
