“What’s After High School?” - Training on Transition

“What’s After High School?” is a broad overview of the transition to adult life for young adultswith disabilities and special needs and includes the following topics:

  • Planning for the future
  • The role of schools
  • Long-term supports
  • Vocational resources
  • Moving into adult health care
  • Supported decision making & guardianship
  • Basics of self-determination

When: March 4, 5:30pm – 8:00pm (check-in and dinner start at 5:15)

Where: Cost: The training is free to participants.A light meal and a resource binder will be provided at no cost.

The training is ideal for families who have children ages 14 - 21. It would also be beneficial for providers and schoolstaff who work with young adults with special needs. Youth are welcome to attend.This training is co-sponsored by Family Voices of Wisconsin, the Western Regional Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs and Jackson County Community on Transition (CCoT).
